About Course

This 8-module course will introduce children to the fundamentals of cooking and baking in a fun and engaging way. In Module 1, students will learn the basics of kitchen safety, including knife safety and heat safety. They will also become familiar with essential kitchen tools and appliances. Module 2 will cover measuring and mixing techniques, so students can properly measure ingredients and master different mixing methods.
Module 3 will introduce students to morning favorites such as pancakes, French toast, and omelets. The baking basics will be covered in Module 4, including an introduction to baking equipment, common ingredients, and how to follow a recipe. As students advance, they will move on to making cookies and bars (Module 5), quick breads (Module 6), and savory soups and stews (Module 7). Finally, in Module 8, students will apply all they have learned by choosing a recipe they want to make and presenting it to the class. The course will culminate with a celebration of their newfound skills in the kitchen.
